Mission Statement

To lift the spirits of our troops and their families.

Description

USO|Houston lifts the spirits of our troops and their families in the Greater Houston area (Walker, Harris, Montgomery, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston and Jefferson counties). Headquartered at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, USO|Houston operates USO airport lounges in Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports, in addition to connecting Houston-based service members to family support and cultural and sports activities locally. Over 30,000 transiting troops and their family members take advantage of USO|Houston’s airport lounges annually, while the thousands of active, guard, and reserve military families based in and around the Houston area benefit from local USO activities. Houston’s military population is largely interspersed amongst the civilian population, presenting a unique set of challenges to families of mobilized or deployed service members. USO|Houston strives to connect Houston’s military members and their families to one another, as well as to the area’s highly supportive and appreciative civilian population.
