Mission Statement

Wags and Whiskers Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3). We are a volunteer, foster-home based organization. Our volunteers strive to stop pet overpopulation, protect the lives of animals, conduct animal welfare programs, and provide new forever homes for our foster pets.

Description

Our volunteers strive to stop pet overpopulation, protect the lives of animals, conduct animal welfare programs, and provide new forever homes for our foster pets.

First, to address over population, we provide a low cost spay/neuter program to the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Our goal is to offer low cost options for any person willing to get their pet altered. In 2010, we issued 1450 vouchers.

Second, to aid our county animal shelters and save the lives of pets in jeopardy of euthanasia, we pull highly adoptable pets out of the county shelters and place them into foster homes. Campbell, Kenton, Boone and Gallatin county animals shelters are our primary partners with nearly 200 pets being pulled in 2010.

Third, we speak at schools, clubs, and scouting groups. Through education and teaching, we can make people aware of the overpopulation issues and teach the value of responsible pet ownership.

In summary, we do rescue work with pets because we value animal as well as human life. Our rescue delivers hope and makes a difference to many pets and people in our community.
