My daughter and I have volunteered at the Humane Association for two years now. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with abandoned cats and dogs who only wanted to be loved. These pets need only a little time to learn to trust people again. Volunters can come any day of the week, to help feed, water, clean up after the pets, and most importantly, love these animals who are desparately needing forever homes. The HACC is a NO KILL shelter who receives NO government funding. The operate solely on the donations of others and depend greatly on the volunteers who are kind enough to stop by. It is a terrific lesson for children of all ages. I leave tired but happy to made an animal's life just a little bit better! They are also needing volunteers at Feeder's Supply in New Albany! Their dogs and puppies need to walked down the aisles of the store as well as outside for potty breaks!
