Mission Statement

The American Liver Foundation is a national voluntary health organization dedicated to preventing, treating and curing hepatitis and other liver and gallbladder diseases through research, education and advocacy.

Description

The Missouri Chapter of the American Liver Foundation serves to educate the community about the need for organ donation, the risk factors associated with hepatitis and other liver diseases and to serve as a resource for people afflicted by liver disease. Liver disease is non-discriminatory. It affects infants, adolescents, and adults of all gender and race regardless of lifestyle. Researchers have identified more than 100 liver diseases. More than 25 million Americans suffer from liver or gallbladder disease. Liver disease is the seventh leading health-related cause of death in America, resulting in more than 50,000 deaths each year.
