You or your service group can adopt a flower bed, assist with watering, weeding, designing and planting the gardens on the beautiful campus at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital. This is mostly seasonal, (April to October), but some opportunities exist in the winter. Help make the raised garden beds beautiful for our Veterans in wheelchairs!

Ambassadors greet, guide, assist and, where needed, escort Veterans, (sometimes in wheelchairs), and visitors to Bedford VA. 8am-Noon, Noon- 4:00 or all day, various shifts open Monday-Friday, come for half a day, all day, or for a few days! Ambassadors may be the "first impression" a Veteran has of Bedford VA and they convey our culture of caring and excellence from the moment a Veteran or visitor arrives. The gold standard for the Ambassador Program is to consistently exceed expectations, for example not just telling a Veteran how to get someplace, but accompanying them to their destination. Ambassadors utilize consistent greetings and messaging for all encounters and complete report at end of shift to provide feedback for program needs. Ambassadors need to be able to push wheelchairs when necessary. All COVID-19 precautions must be followed, including masks, social distancing and sanitizing.
