Mission Statement
Friends of the San Jose Rose Garden is a nonprofit volunteer organization which through a Public/Private Partnership with the City of San José, rescued and helps maintain the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, a historic landmark park which contains over 3,500 rosebushes.
Description
Friends of the San Jose Rose Garden offers multi-tiered volunteer opportunities: individual, special events, our specially trained "Master Volunteer" program, community groups and corporate volunteer days.
Volunteers clip off spent blooms (deadhead), weed, apply mulch, prune and plant roses depending on the season. We make it simple so all ages and abilities can participate! We offer innovative techniques such as "Deadheading for Maximum Display" which helps to promote blooms for constant color in the garden from April - November.
