Mission Statement

The purpose or purposes for which Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad is organized are: 1) To conduct an emergency rescue squad and ambulance service in and about the area of Henrico County, Virginia, known as Lakeside, without any fees or service charges for any of said services, and to transport persons to hospitals or residences in the City of Richmond or Henrico County, VA. 2) To recruit volunteer workers, to man such emergency vehicles, or services incidental thereto. 3) To conduct campaigns for the solicitation of funds for the maintenance and operation of said equipment. 4) To render assistance to other agencies, whether volunteer, municipal, or state, engaged in similar activities. 5) To render emergency first aid only. (Nothing in this charter shall authorize the rendition of medical, dental, or health services as defined in the statues of Virginia.)

Description

Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad has been a source of aid and comfort for residents of Henrico County, Virginia since 1958. Volunteers are trained as emergency medical technicians, at basic life support and advanced life support levels, and also as ambulance drivers, to provide emergency care for Henrico County citizens who access the 911 system. Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad also plays a vital role in the community, as providers of public assistance and training for CPR, basic first aid, and EMT classes.
