our mission is to increase positive awareness of Down syndrome through national campaigns, educational programs, and empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community

Description

Gigi's Playhouse provides resources, specialized teaching and support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families and their community.

Our programs are free and theraputic in nature. They are designed to work with specific skill development in several areas including speech and language, social development, and fine and gross motor skills. Our literacy program is teaching prereading skills (starting at two and a half)to our youngest clients and maintenance of skills to adults of all ages. We have readers of all levels in between. Our newest campaign - part of the national GiGi's campaign - is: 'i have a voice" which seeks to change outdated perceptions and replace those images with beautiful, thought provoking, intelligent images.

Specific activities include: Open Play, 2 and under, Playhouse Pals, Kids Club, Crawlers, Teen Tastics, Walkers, Friday Friends, Hop, Skip, Jumpers, Fall, Winter and Summer Literacy Sessions, Camp, Mothers Group, Signing Classes and Dance.
