The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in social media management, deep knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, and hands-on experience creating content in multiple formats. You should also be proficient in using multi-social posting programs such as Hootsuite and HubSpot, data-driven, and have excellent copywriting skills. Responsibilities: Recruit qualified volunteers for various positions, while simultaneously engaging and retaining current volunteers Develop and execute a volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention strategy Serve as the organization’s primary point of contact for prospective volunteers primarily through video meetings, email and phone. Keep volunteer applicants apprised of the status of their application and alert them of new volunteer opportunities that they may be qualified for Develop and administer the orientation and onboarding process for new volunteers Create volunteer training programs, when necessary Collaborate with team members on program/event planning and volunteer needs, volunteer coordination and oversight. Assist team members with the writing and editing of volunteer job descriptions and post the final approved copy to VolunteerMatch, Idealist, Catchafire and other social-impact job boards. Maintain job description files and job board postings. Maintain, collect and track volunteer database and maintain accurate and thorough records, spreadsheets and program files. Work with the Executive Director and other team members to provide support, as needed for the internship program and other volunteers needed for film production Requirements Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 5+ years of volunteer recruitment and engagement experience at a nonprofit with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with volunteers and optimizing volunteer engagement Demonstrated ability to engage in creative problem solving, learn and utilize new skills and work well both independently and as a member of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills - works well in a collaborative virtual team environment Proven organizational and administrative skills Self-directed, flexible and proactive brings project management skills and a keen attention to detail Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google docs required. MailChimp, a plus Understanding of the fundamentals of event production. Prior virtual and/or live event experience is helpful. Prior experience working on a nonprofit board preferred but not required. Able to commit to serve in this role on the Foundation’s Board of Directors for a two-year term.
