We're seeking a dedicated intern to join our team as a Group Co- Facilitator for Domestic Violence Intervention. Responsibilities: Facilitation: Help lead groups for men and women who have exhibited violence in relationships and are committed to positive change. Education: Conduct educational sessions at the County jail focusing on domestic violence awareness and essential life skills. Support: Provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment for participants to explore their behaviors, emotions, and motivations. Empowerment: Empower participants to develop healthier coping mechanisms, communication skills, and conflict resolution strategies. Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and fellow team members to ensure program effectiveness and participant progress tracking. Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Sensitivity to issues of domestic violence and a commitment to promoting safety and well-being. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines. Willingness to learn and adapt in a challenging and dynamic environment. POSITION SUMMARY: Position is on-call as needed EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years professional experience in crisis agency required. Professional knowledge of domestic and sexual abuse required. Professional knowledge of sexual assault survivors’ needs and understanding of victim dynamics. Knowledge about services available to victims in and around Kenosha County preferred. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication and organizational skills; cultural competence and ability to interact with various publics; excellent interpersonal skills; must demonstrate professionalism with sound judgment and a high degree of responsibility, particularly as it relates to confidentiality. Reliable automobile with insurance and valid driver’s license required. REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault. Provide personal advocacy, safety planning, and follow up services to victims as needed. 2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including law enforcement, health department, and forensic nurse examiners. 3. Provide on call coverage as needed during non-business, holiday and weekend hours. 4. Respond to crisis calls at hospitals and law enforcement centers. 5. Provide monthly and quarterly reports and statistics required for grant to supervisor. 6. Adhere to the organization’s code of ethics, policies and procedures, code of conduct and confidentiality, and agency-wide employee standards. 7. Understand and support the mission and purpose of Women and Children’s Horizons, Inc. 8. Participate in supervision, meetings, trainings and workshops as necessary. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.

"The mission of Women and Children's Horizons is to provide support, education, training, and healing for victims of sexual and domestic violence/abuse." We will work by providing advocacy, support, legal, and emergency residential and non residential services for all victims and child witnesses of domestic and sexual abuse. We provide education and outreach to all interested members of the community and assist in the development and implementation of domestic abuse and sexual assault programming.

Women and Children's Horizons provides 24/7 in person and telephone advocacy for victims of sexual and domestic violence, legal information and referral, one on one advocacy, groups, and children's services.
