Mission Statement
The mission of National Animal Assisted Crisis Response is to harness the power of the human animal bond to provide support and inspire hope in civilians and responders impacted by trauma, crisis and disaster.
Description
NAACR consists of a network of specially trained and entirely voluneer dogs and handler teams from aroudn the country who deploy nationally. These teams are extensively trained and certified to give animal assisted emotional support when partnering with disaster mental health and emergency response agencies that provide emotional rescue, recovery and on-going support to individuals who have been affected by crisis or disaster.
Our responses include - Hurricane Rita, Hurricane Katrina, Virginia Tech University shooting, Northern Illinois University shooting, Parkersburg, Iowa flooding and countless local and regional disasters.
During natural disasters we have been deployed to shelters to provide support to children and adults, have worked along side mental health professionals when providing paychological first aide and have worked in responder resting areas to provide emotional relaxation from the disaster.
We have references from agencies who have utilize our services.
