Mission Statement

The mission of Central Kansas CASA, Inc. is to serve as an advocate for abused and neglected children by providing a pool of trained, caring volunteers who speak for the best interest of a child in order to provide them a safe, loving and permanent home.

Description

Volunteers participate in training involving courtroom procedures, effective advocacy techniques, drug and alcohol issues, detection of child abuse; they spend time with the child and their family; they make contact with SRS personnel, school staff, health agencies, foster families, etc. CASA volunteers serve as a fact-finder for the judge; speak for the child in the courtroom, representing the child's best interests; and continue to act as an advocate for the child during the life of the case.
