Mission Statement

The mission of CASA New Orleans is to provide trained Court Appointed Volunteers to advocate for a permanent home for each child who appears before the Orleans parish Juvenile Court in abuse and neglect proceedings.

Description

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), of New Orleans, is a not-for-profit agency which advocates on behalf of children (birth to 18) who have been judged victims of abuse and/or neglect. Although CASA is a volunteer position, the duties carried out by a CASA are extremely important. Along with a sincere commitment, volunteers must be responsible, articulate and mature. No special education or skills are required. Thorough training and continual support is provided.
