In an effort to divert our neighbors from needing to check in to the shelter, and as we've been lucky enough to be able to grow our toolbox for helping others, the New London Homeless Hospitality Center has created a new Housing Resource Center at 727 Bank Street, New London. The Housing Resource Center helps tenants and landlords process UniteCT rental assistance applications and much more. The Housing Resource Center is in great need of volunteers with computer skills to manage the flow of clients at reception. This is an incredible opportunity to be of service by breaking down one barrier for people experiencing the threat of homelessness. Basic computer skills including the ability to manage a google calendar or similar is required. Opportunities to volunteer are from Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm and 12pm-3pm. Evening Support Volunteer: Help shelter staff at the front desk check in guests, assign beds, answer guest questions, and give guests toiletries and other supplies they may need. This is an opportunity to build friendships and become more involved in our efforts to end homelessness. This role requires a regular commitment. Hours needed: Monday-Friday, Sat. and Sun. 5:30-8:30 p.m. Same night each week. Your support will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue in our work.

HELP CENTER VOLUNTEER works in the Help Center office and community area assisting guests with a variety of needs. Responsibilities include improve guest computer literacy for job searches, resume writing, manage guest mail, provide clothing vouchers, bus passes and process official documents such as birth certificates. Hours needed: Shifts are available Friday. We have morning and afternoon shifts available. Your support will make a difference in our community by removing barriers for the homeless to achieve jobs and housing.

NLHHC is now seeking Front Desk Volunteers. As a Front Desk Volunteer, you are the first face that current and new guests as well as service providers from across New London County see when they arrive at our daytime Hospitality Center. The primary responsibilities of a Front Desk Volunteer include provide clerical assistance and guest support. Responsibilities include managing front desk sign-in sheets, answering the phone and directing calls, greeting guests and visitors, answering questions, and managing center supplies. Needed: Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 12:30pm (One or two days of your choice!) Your support will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue in our work
