Mission Statement
The Cheektowaga Community Chorus is an auditioned 4-part mixed chorus that combines the enthusiasm and dedication of volunteer singers with high artistic standards. Special outreach to youth and seniors has expanded educational opportunities for the organization and brought a heightened awareness of the choral art form to the public. The Organization has a commitment to education, outreach, community service, and seeks to inspire people through choral performance.
Description
The Chorus rehearses once per week to prepare for 2-3 major concerts per year. Other community ensemble performances are scheduled by the Board of Directors and Music Director. The Chorus also sponsors an annual Music Camp, Community Sing-ins to benefit the WNY Food Bank, Drama/Music Workshops for youth and teens, and reaches out to the elderly and infirm by bringing musical performances to those who are not able to attend a formal concert. The Chorus places value on nurturing young singers, and helping all singers develop skills to enhance their giving of music, no matter what age or level.
