Mission Statement
Our mission is to bring the love of Jesus and hope for a new life to our homeless neighbors.
Description
Our vision is to see every homeless neighbor - beloved, redeemed, restored.
We address root causes and break the cycle of homelessness by meeting urgent physical needs, building relationships, and offering long-term recovery programs. Our efforts work to restore dignity and help move people to healthy, thriving lives.
We want everyone to know, no matter their circumstances, they are loved and cared for, by us and by God.

I am searching for different volunteer activities until I find the right one. I've tried about six different organizations and nothing really seems to fit nor work out in the long run. I stumbled across Seattle Union Gospel Mission. Volunteering was okay. I didn't feel I was doing anything special. The afternoon volunteer slots have very few if at all individuals show up. Staff was friendly but sort of forgot about us after they dropped us off to the task location. Supplies ran low and out and bags were only partially filled with supplies. You had to search for them only to find there were no more supplies. I researched and tried a few of the non warehouse positions and wasn't too impressed. Loosely run organization that heavily pushes religion. I wouldn't mind if they didn't force it upon people who didn't really want it or just needed the assistance. I wasn't too impressed with it even though I highly approve of the staff friendliness and their goals. Just not for me.
