Mission Statement

Weedon Island Preserve remains one of Florida 's most important natural and cultural resources. Its proper management remains the priority of Pinellas County as caretaker of the Preserve. The County is committed to restoring its natural communities while teaching the public about the interrelationships between people and the environment. Through the support of citizens and the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners, Weedon Island Preserve remains "A Place to Remember."

Description

Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center lies within Weedon Island Preserve and is part of Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources. The Center supports the applied management and ecological monitoring objectives of the division through educational programming and volunteerism.

The education program at the Center interprets the natural, cultural and archaeological history of the Preserve through interpretive tours and hikes, education programs, exhibits and public outreach activities, presentations and workshops, and other events.
