Mission Statement

The Glow Center provides transitional housing assistance that serves as a bridge to permanent housing and self-sufficiency for domestic violence victims and other survivors of traumatic life events.

Description

The Glow Center works in partnership with domestic violence organizations and groups that support other populations in need of transitional housing. We accept individuals and families who would be a good fit for our home tending program and provide training and assistance before placing them into a suitable vacant home.

The Glow Center coordinates our efforts with licensed real estate professionals, several financial institutions, and other property owners to identify houses that would benefit from temporary occupancy to facilitate resale. Most of the homes are REOs (real estate owned, often properties owned by banks after foreclosure), but The Glow Center also works with private owners to find suitable vacant homes for the program. We then work with volunteer agencies to spruce up the homes with basic furnishings and prepare them for occupancy.
