Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue

My family wanted to "give back" after an animal rescue group helped us acquire life-saving medical treatment for a severely neglected wiener dog that was abandoned in our neighborhood with a broken leg. Some members of this group dreamed about starting a new group specializing in dachshunds, so we rolled up our sleeves to help establish Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue (HTDR). My husband and I and two of our teenage children have volunteered with HTDR for about 10 months. It is a family affair we are proud to be a part of. Week after week, month after month, and with enormous hearts, HTDR volunteers generously donate their time and talent to this group to save the lives of unwanted or abandoned dogs many of which suffer physically and/or emotionally from mistreatment and neglect. HTDR volunteers are passionate, compassionate, and supportive of one another in this common cause to save dachshund and dachshund mix dogs from suffering and premature death. Help us give dogs a second chance.

We appreciate everyone's amazing efforts with our rescue group. Thank you everyone for all you have done for our special furry children. I feel very blessed to be a part of a great group of volunteers with enormous hearts for rescue. I know we are very passionate in what we do. Together we can most definitely make a difference. Save a life fostering is great! May God always bless our efforts for all the right reasons & a huge thank you to all the volunteers because you are the best & it really shows.

Most people in the 'volunteer business' are passionate about what they do, but the volunteers at Happy Tails are passionate PLUS!! Not only are they some of the kindest-hearted people around, but they have been in rescue for many years and have not lost one single ounce of that passion for helping furry little ones--it only grows! Their excitement and love for this kind of service is contagious and they are an absolute joy to work with! I am new to fostering, but could not ask for a more supportive group to help me out. These people always go above and beyond to make sure that your volunteering experience is as smooth as possible and they are GREAT at communicating! Something that they do better than any organization I've ever volunteered with is ALWAYS making you feel appreciated, even for doing the littlest things...and a "Thank you" is always wonderful to hear. This is simply an amazing group of dedicated people!!

My friends at Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue, go above and beyond for their rescued Dachshunds. They always make sure that every single furry friend is taken care. I foster these little guys in my home, and I can not express how much happiness the foster dogs have given me and my family. Every day I look at my foster dog and feel so proud, because not only have I saved his life, but also another dogs life by making room for another rescue dog. If I need anything for my foster dog, I don't have to worry because the support I get from Happy Tails is amazing. This group has enriched mine and my familys lives in so many ways. Thank you Happy Tails for all that you do for these precious dogs! :)
