Mission Statement

To provide trained advocates to assist the Guardians ad Litem to promote the best interests of abused, neglected, or abandoned children in the dependency court system in Orange County, Florida. We welcome individuals 19 and up from all walks of life. We have particular need for those who have a background or education in the medical field, education, mental health, and legal studies, but this is not require d. Volunteers complete a one-hour visit with their assigned children each month. A relationship of trust and support grows between volunteers and "their" kids: you are not only an advocate, you are often also their friend and mentor. This is a real chance to touch a child's life, one-on-one, and change their lives for the better. Volunteers who would like to help, but want a less hands-on role are also needed to assist our attorneys with records reviews and other matters.
