Mission Statement

The mission of the Basehor Historical Museum Society is to promote awareness of the history, settlement, and expansion of the Basehor community and Leavenworth County.

Within its walls, you will learn about the city's beginning when two Pennsylvania settlers, brothers Ephraim and Rueben Basehor, came to the area in 1854 and founded Basehor in 1889. You will witness the evolution of a school district, government, business community, and general way of life. You will discover why generation after generation has been proud to call Basehor home from its humble beginnings to the thriving community it is today.
