APHE will provide professional development opportunities and networking for educators who promote humane attitudes toward people, animals and the environment.

APHE will uphold the highest standards of practice in humane education.

Description

The Association of Professional Humane Educators (APHE) is a professional membership not-for-profit organization.

Members are primarily from the United States and also Canada, Australia and other international countries.

The membership is comprised of educators from a variety of backgrounds who promote humane attitudes toward people, animals and the environment. This includes, but is not limited to, anyone who teaches animal welfare, animal rights, animal behavior, environmental concerns, character education, social justice, cultural studies and any combination of the above. Members may work or volunteer with animal shelters, animal care and control agencies, park districts, schools, colleges, universities and other local, regional and national entities.

APHE provides a National Conference, regional workshops, online webinars, quarterly newsletter and e-mail listserv. Members receive discounts on humane education materials, online courses and APHE professional development events.
