Mission Statement

The mission of Navos is to improve the quality of life of people vulnerable to mental illness by providing a broad continuum of care.

Description

For over forty years, Navos has been responding to the needs of people with mental illness in King County, Washington. Our services are targeted to those who live at or near poverty, often as a result of their mental illness.

Navos is recognized as a leader for its efforts to transform services into care focused on recovery and wellness, and on the strengths of individuals with mental illness. We believe that all our clients can lead meaningful lives and successfully manage their mental illness. Every client receives individualized support to help them address their psychiatric and psychosocial needs, understand their medication, develop coping strategies, and connect to critical resources such as housing and employment. Even the most seriously ill patient participates in his or her own care.

In 2010 Navos merged with Ruth Dykeman Children's Center and July, 2012, Navos merged with Seattle Childrens Home. Pooling our resources together enabled us to become stronger and more effective in extending our services to children and families in King County.
