Mission Statement
The American Cancer Society's mission is to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Our Leadership roles: 1. Support better decisions by making available high-quality, timely, understandable information, especially to newly diagnosed cancer patients and their caregivers. 2. Advance cancer-related research outcomes by funding key research gaps and by influencing the amount and direction of funds invested by leading research sponsors. 3. Improve quality of life of cancer patients at the community level by assisting primarily with service referral, community mobilization, collaboration, advocacy, and, where appropriate, directly providing services. 4. Increase prevention and early detection of cancer.
