Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
We are on a mission to heal the pain of abuse and neglect in children by providing those in kinship and foster care with permanent homes in a multigenerational neighborhood.
Many Lights Foundation is building a multigenerational community called Hope Lights to support families adopting children from foster care, at-risk kinship families, and adults over 55 who desire connection and purpose.
Hope Lights is inspired by five highly successful communities: Hope Meadows (Rantoul, IL), Treehouse Communities (Easthampton, MA), Bridge Meadows (Portland, OR), New Life Village (Tampa, FL) and Hope Village (Phoenix, AZ).
Within our multigenerational community, elders will be seen as honorary grandparents providing support and nurturance to children, while adoptive families will become "grandparent helpers", supporting elders in living a vibrant life. With the increase in the number of grandparents raising their grandchildren, Many Lights is also committed to providing kinship families like these with safe homes.
Hope Lights will have 40 affordable residences for adults over 55 years of age and 12 homes for kinship families and families adopting children from foster care. It will also include a multigenerational community center, tutoring, library and computer rooms, gardens and play areas, plus a respite or hospice room. Community events will be educational, recreational, cultural and focused on health and well-being.
