Mission Statement

Alexander's Angels purpose is to engage in activities that provide a forum for public awareness of the needs and contributions to society of individuals with Down syndrome, and promote scientific research, advocacy, education, and service to benefit the Down syndrome community by raising funds for the organization and other local and national Down syndrome not-for-profit organizations.

Description

To achieve its charitable purposes, Alexander's Angels, Inc.:

  1. Organizes and sponsors art exhibits and other cultural programs that highlight latent talents of individuals with Down syndrome;
  2. Organizes and promotes panel presentations to acquaint the general population with topics on Down syndrome;
  3. Organizes and promotes the annual Long Island Buddy Walk, an event that raises much needed funds for Down syndrome in addition to providing a forum for information exchange, affirmation, and community building;
  4. Organizes other fundraisers to provide funding for advocacy, service, education and scientific research benefiting the Down syndrome community.
