Renaissance E.M.S. offers a range of music, sports and educational programs for young people
ages 6-19. Our classes include vocals training, bass guitar, drums, keyboard, guitar, audio
engineering, tutoring, mentoring, basketball, and several talented youth bands.
OUR VISION: At Renaissance E.M.S, we envision a world where all individuals are afforded
the chance to maximize their potential, regardless of socio economic background or ethnicity.
We strive to instill within our students the values of self-worth, pride, commitment,
perseverance, and family reverence through discipline, mentoring, academic programs and
positive role modeling.
MUSIC PROGRAM: Renaissance E.M.S. offers a wide range of music instruction
for aspiring musicians. The Youth Program is for 6-19 year olds and our Adult
Program is for anyone over 20. Our classes include vocals training, guitar, bass
guitar, keyboards and drums. Students can sign up for courses that range from 6 to
8 weeks and culminate in a music recital. Private lessons are also available.
TUTORING/ MENTORING: Our Saturday tutoring sessions offer homework help and
SAT prep to help students go on to major universities. Our new mentoring program
connects young men and women with mentors, building useful life skills for the
challenges they face.
BASKETBALL: Our competitive basketball program offers young people a way to
excel on the court as part of our Renaissance Warriors team. At the same time, it
teaches life and social skills that assist our players off the court as well.
MUSIC WITH A MESSAGE: Music With A Message
(MWAM) www.musicwam.org is our exciting new
initiative to produce concerts at housing developments,
parks, beaches schools, block parties, sporting and
social events in the NYC region and beyond each
summer. Youth from across NYC audition for this
competitive ensemble, and are paid a small stipend to
tour with the MWAM on a truck with a mobile stage. MWAM’s original songs
spread positive messages of hope, love, inspiration and healing to inner city
families and communities one show at a time
