Mission Statement

One World Education (OWEd) is a non-profit leader in promoting youth literacy and developing peer-to-peer curriculum that empowers teachers and engages students. OWEd utilizes student-authored writing about culture and global issues as teaching tools for other students.

One World Curriculum:

Through our website, the One World Curriculum showcases middle and high school student writing about culture, local and global issues. This student-authored writing is aligned with standard-based curriculum for educators to teach core academic subjects and global studies. The goal of the One World Curriculum is to return this student writing back to classrooms as learning resources for other students through our website. Our One World Curriculum serves our teacher members through our diverse database of project-based Learning Activities and comprehension-focused Unit Resources on a rage of topics and subjects. The One World Curriculum is developed by our Curriculum Team of experienced middle and high school educators.

Culture & Global Issues Reflection Program:

The annual Culture & Global Issues Writing Program is a contest open to all middle and high school students to share their writing about culture, local and global issues. After engaging in a thorough classroom project, these students can submit their writing and twelve students become One World Student Ambassadors and have their writing published on our website with aligned One World Curriculum, allowing other students to learn from their writing.

Professional Development:

OWEd provides in-school training and coaching to support teachers with two core areas of professional development. These on-going programs focus on core teaching principles and progressive strategies. Our simple and innovative PD series prepare teachers with the skills and supports to enhance and expand the teaching and learning experience.

Curriculum Development:

Subject-based and interdisciplinary lesson plans, units and courses designed by professional teachers for schools and after-school youth programs.
