Mission Statement

To train and educate families, educators and service providers on the basic uses of the interactive technological products (e.g. iPad, iPod, Android) for individuals with developmental disabilities; and, to supply/provide interactive technological products to individuals (birth to 22) with a Medical ASD diagnosis.

Description

  • Train and educate families, educators and service providers on the basic uses of the interactive technological products for individuals with developmental disbilities.

Strategy 1: Find existing service providers that currently use interactive technology in their clinic/classroom to educate families and colleagues who have/serve individuals with an ASD diagnosis.

Strategy 2: Provide training sessions and/or seminars to families and service providers through local agencies (ASNO, Lucas County Board of DD, Autism Collaborative, Toledo Children's Hospital, Mercy Children’s, Toledo Hearing and Speech, Capable Kids, etc.) and with the help of interactive technology retailers (i.e. Best Buy, Apple, and other Apple retailers).

  • Supply/provide interactive technological products to individuals (birth to 22) with a Medical ASD diagnosis.

Strategy 1: Seek funding sources for new technology and APPS, and donation sources for used and new product.

Strategy 2: Seek service providers to serve as a liaison between iTaalk and families for the placement, delivery and training of the touch products.

Their mission is to not only get the devices into the hands of children with autism but to help the family find the resources that will help them on their journey. Funding sources, APPs for the core deficits of autism and much much more. A true resource to have!
