Description

Those who seek housing at SMH must be sober and attend mandatory recovery meetings that identify and examine the issues that led to their homelessness. Case managers endeavor to help residents rebuild their lives spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. Residents are required to work or look for work. Those who cannot work are required to participate in our program by doing various chores, odd jobs or gardening projects at SMH, which also helps build self-esteem and self-worth. Wherever possible, we strive to teach residents a skill that they can use to obtain employment, from hospitality skills in the kitchen, to gardening and more, SMH residents have the opportunity to excel first here, then independently for the rest of their lives.
