Mission Statement

By connecting contributors, consumers and a network of quality service providers, United Way is our community's most efficient, cost-effective and comprehensive means for ensuring that important and needed health and human services are available for Tompkins County residents.

Description

Eight nonprofits in Tompkins County, New York have developed a series of VISTA projects (the Collaborative) to help address the health and human service needs of the county's rural residents. The Collaborative represents a range of issues from violence prevention to mental health, childcare to food pantries and is designed to help build the rural service capacity of the participating nonprofits. VISTAs serving on the Collaborative will learn community development strategies, leadership skills and gain important nonprofit skills in a specific service area.
