The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. I really wish they would accept people of all religions into the program. I am very interesting in helping these people but I cannot contribute considering I'm Agnostic, despite having respect for all religions. I hope someday in the future they will accept people of all religions. :)
The Word of God commands it, clearly, over and over again:
John 13:34-35 [Full Chapter]
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 13:35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 15:12 [ Disciples’ Relation to Each Other ] “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

Love INC is a great organization that provides a wide range of volunteer opportunities for Christians. There is something for everyone to do without having to access multiple organizations; there are even opportunities if you only have 15 minutes a week to call and check in on an elderly or disabled individual to see how they are doing. Believe me, the more you give, the more you will receive. My husband and I have provided assessments for and done work in the handyman program, have provided directed assistance to two individuals, and I've been actively involved in the Loving Help program as an instructor in the budgeting program. We may not be able to change the world but we can make a difference one day at a time one person at a time. We have grown in our walk with Christ and met so many wonderful people through this organization.
This organization takes the "Great Commission" seriously. They are fiscally sound and do extensive background checks on the folks they help to make sure that what we do is done for those truly in need. I always walk away feeling like the one who has been given a gift.
