Mission Statement

Prevention of teen dating violence through awareness, education, and advocacy. Our Gaming Against Violence program produces and publishes intentionally designed prosocial video games for young people. Topics include consent, healthy relationships, and resilience.

Description

Jennifer Ann's Group was formed in 2006 in memory of Jennifer Ann Crecente, a high school senior killed by her ex-boyfriend.

The group works to increase awareness through online campaigns, websites, and a speakers bureau. It has distributed over 500,000 free educational resources throughout the U.S., U.K., and Canada.

Through its Gaming Against Violence program the group sponsors an annual video game design competition "Life.Love. Game Design Challenge" which offers prizes to online video games that support protective factors and provide information about the dangers of teen dating violence. Game topics include consent, connectedness, critical thinking, healthy relationships, resilience, and teen dating violence prevention. This innovative approach to violence prevention has received worldwide media coverage including NPR, Wired, France 24, and The Hollywood Reporter.
