MDA was founded in 1950 in New York by a group on concerned parents seeking a better life for their children impacted by neuromuscular disease. Since its inception, MDA has grown to be one of the world’s largest health-oriented non-profit organizations
Over 43 different neuromuscular conditions are serviced by MDA. These conditions vary in severity and affect children through adults. MDA combats neuromuscular disease through comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education
