Mission Statement
Our mission is to create the public and political will to end poverty by empowering individuals to exercise their personal and political power for change. Our grassroots volunteers are Everyday Heros from many walks of life who combine their passionate voices with strategic grass-tops efforts to leverage millions of dollars for programs and improved policies that give low-income people the health, education, and opportunity they need to thrive.
Description
RESULTS is a non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization committed to creating the public and political will to end hunger and poverty. There are groups of RESULTS volunteers all over the U.S. and international partners as well. St Louis has a group focused on global poverty issues and one focused on U.S. poverty.
Global groups take action on issues like:
- Global Health
- Global Education
- Microcredit
- Foreign Aid
Domestic issue groups take action on issues like:
- Health Care
- Early childhood education for low-income children
- Tax credits for impoverished Americans
- SNAP ("Food Stamp") benefits
RESULTS partners hold public education events about poverty and active democracy, generate media coverage of our issues and lobby directly with members of Congress and their staffs. We empower individuals to have breakthroughs in exercising their personal and political power.
Our core strength lies in the personal relationships we build with our members of Congress, their staffs and our fellow partners across the nation. We are known for our effectiveness, persistence and professionalism in our work.
If you wish to join a dedicated group of individuals that regularly speak out on behalf of those living in poverty and have an active hand in changing the world, contact us today and get involved!
