CATAWBA COUNTY HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION WAS FOUNDED IN 1949 AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF COLLECTING, PERSERVING,RESEARCHING, EXHIBITING AND INTERPRETING THE EVERYDAY LIFE AND
ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE RESIDENTS OFCATAWBA COUNTY AND THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE HERITAGE OF
THE STATE OF INC AND THE NATION THE ORGANIZATION ACCOMPLISHES THIS THROUGH DISSEMINATING
INFORMATION AND STIMULATING INTEREST THROUGH ITS COLLECTIONS, PUBLICATIONS, LECTURES, WORKSHOPS,
AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS ON THE HISTORY OFCATAWBA COUNTY

Description

The Catawba County Historical Association owns and maintains several major properties throughout the county: The Catawba County Museum of History in Newton; The Harper House/Hickory History Center in Hickory; The Bunker Hill Covered Bridge in Claremont; and Murray's Mill Historic District in Catawba.
