Mission Statement

JVS brings people and work together. Work defines how we feel about ourselves, how we support ourselves and our families, and who we are in society. Helping someone become independent and productive through work brings the dignity of self-sufficiency and fulfills the highest Jewish value of Tzedakah. JVS strengthens the Bay Area community by helping people, especially those with barriers to employment, acquire the skills, attitudes and resources to find meaningful employment and to advance in their careers. JVS provides specialized outreach and programs targeted to the employment needs of the Jewish community. JVS links employers and individuals together to achieve their employment goals by providing the skills necessary for success in today's workplace, through high quality customer service, innovative program strategies and the use of new technologies.
