Mission Statement
To encourage children of imprisoned mothers to grow into healthy, successful and productive adolescents, thus breaking the intergenerational cycle of incarceration or any type of abuse related incarceration.
Description
The Incarcerated Mothers Program develops and implements service plans for families affected by incarceration. Provide casework and preventive planning to children and families; maintain supportive relationships; assess needs and make appropriate referrals; schedule and complete field visits and maintain all pertinent documentation. The program was designed to ensure that children were safe with their caretakers and that their needs were being met. We work comprehensively with families affected by maternal incarceration in order to strengthen the family unit and to prevent the children from being placed in foster care.
