Mission Statement

The Main Street Schoolhouse was founded in l994 by Karen Cocina, to answer the growing need of our racially diverse community members for a reliable, continually accessible school that majors in teaching languages and basic education. Under her leadership, the school was later incorporated and established as a 501c3 non-profit, non-chartered, licensed school.

Description

Main Street Schoolhouse, Inc. is a cheery, home-like private school with an international atmosphere that offers a regularly scheduled, on-going curriculum of language, literacy, and basic skills for adults, youth, and children in order to enrich their lives and enhance their capacity to function more effectively in their
jobs, families, and community life.

It is located in a quiet, west side neighborhood and there is free parking along the street and in the adjacent parking lot. All classes are small and personal. Unique, innovative teaching methods bring success to people who have not experienced it before. There is a rich, cultural mix of students and a friendly, skilled teaching staff.
