Mission Statement

The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities representing the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

Description

The Nature Conservancy is building partnerships in Oregon and beyond to protect and repair vital natural areas and systems. We buy land from willing sellers, accept gifts of land, restore habitats, and work with partners to improve public land conservation. Working in Oregon since 1961, the Conservancy protects 48 preserves and managed areas in Oregon, and has helped protect more than 484,000 acres. Learn more at nature.org/oregon.
