San Francisco Community Agencies Responding to Disaster (SF CARD) is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, a California Nonprofit. Our mission is to ensure that nonprofit and faith-based organizations serving San Francisco's vulnerable populations are prepared for a disaster; to play a central role in the coordination of these organizations in their disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.

Description

SF CARD is one of the most respected and well-established intermediary agencies dedicated to organizational disaster resilience, and an essential link between the public sector first responders, and nonprofit and faith-based organizations in disaster response and recovery efforts. For more than 16 years, SF CARD has served as the coordinator and convener of nonprofit sector emergency management issues, leveraging expertise and services with the goal of building a disaster resilient community.
