Mission Statement
The Denver Justice and Peace Committee (DJPC) is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting human rights, economic justice, and lasting peace in Latin America through education, solidarity projects and nonviolent activism.
Description
Through our CAMINOS program, DJPC has sent human rights observers to live and work in Guatemala, has responded to human rights abuses through an urgent action network and has facilitated exchanges between people of Guatemala and the US. We also organize and support non-violent actions to raise awareness on issues affecting Latin America. The education component of our program includes speaking tour featuring visiting Latin Americans and nationallly known speakers who cover topics including poverty, human rights and the effects of globalization. DJPC also sponsors educational events for Central America Week and publishes a quarterly newsletter.
