Mission Statement

The mission of the Children's Museum of Sonoma County (CMOSC) is to inspire children's creativity and stimulate their curiosity to discover the world through playful exploration of the arts and sciences.

Description

The CMOSC has been running a Museum-on-the-Go outreach program for several years, bringing interactive exhibits based on arts and sciences to over 10,000 children and their caregivers at schools, public, and private events throughout Sonoma and nearby counties. The CMOSC started leasing the property at 1835 W. Steele lane in Santa Rosa in December, 2010, and is raising funds to renovate the building on the site in order to open full-time as a children's museum by mid 2013. In the meantime, the CMOSC recently received a $1.8M grant from California Parks & Recreations to build an interactive outdoor garden on this property. We also have special events and birthday parties at the site, but our main activity is still our Museum on the Go program.
