Mission Statement

The OC Walk to Remember is a nonprofit organization that supports parents who have lost a baby in pregnancy or infancy. The mission of the OC Walk to Remember is to raise money for local organizations that support parents who have experienced miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or infant loss of any kind, as well as be a resource center for parents, doctors, nurses, hospitals, support groups, and anyone in need of support or information.

Description

Hundreds of families whose lives have been touched by the death of a baby will remember and celebrate those children October 15th at the OC Walk To Remember.

The 5K event, at The District at Tustin Legacy, will begin with a memorial service where baby's names will be read. Money raised from the event will benefit several local support groups and hospitals to help parents who have lost a baby, including St. Joseph Perinatal Hospice Program, The Guild for Infant Survival Orange County, Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), St Jude Medical Center, UCI Medical Center, Saddleback Memorial Hospital, and Anaheim Memorial Hospital, among others. The OC Walk to Remember is the only organization of its kind in Orange County.

Over 1700 people participated in the 2010 walk, and more than 2000 are expected this year. Past walkers have included: parents who lost a baby due to miscarriage just days before the walk, a mother who lost her son to SIDS over 30 years ago, and nurses who care for babies who die at birth.
