Description

The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation is the only non-profit organization in the Americas dedicated to primary upper motor neuron disorders Hereditary Spastic Paraparesis (HSP) and Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS). These closely related degenerative spinal cord disorders can begin at any age and cause progressive loss of the use of the legs and in PLS, loss of the use of arms and speech as well. Rare conditions can also cause other neurological impairments as well.
