Mission Statement

Theological Horizons supports Christians in academia by advancing theological scholarship and by providing a welcoming home for engaging faith, thought and life.

Description

Theological Horizons responds to honest questioning with solid Christian theology. We invite both faculty and students to actively bring thoughtful faith into their academic lives.

Theological Horizons is centered just steps away from the University of Virginia--at the Bonhoeffer House, also the home of professor Charles Marsh, Karen Marsh and their family. The Bonhoeffer House is a gathering place for students, professors, community members and church leaders who come together for rich conversations about integrating the practices of Christian theology into everyday life.

Theological Horizons advances theological scholarship through

  • the international Goodwin Graduate Writing Prizes
  • Capps Lectures in Christian Theology--in the UVa Rotunda's Dome Room
  • Grants & fellowships
  • Student mentoring & vocational direction

Theological Horizons provides a space to engage faith, thought and life, offering:

  • Vintage Lunch & Reading Group each Friday
  • Breakfast Bible Study each Wednesday
  • Morning Prayer in the UVa Chapel each week
  • Salon Evenings
  • Faith & Life Forums
  • guest speakers, receptions, community gatherings...and more!
