The mission of Sojourner House is to provide culturally sensitive support, advocacy, safety and respect for victims of domestic abuse and to effect systems change.

Description

Sojourner House is an advocacy and resource center for domestic violence victims in Rhode Island. Our agency is a leader in assisting victims of domestic violence and their children by offering a comprehensive network of support services. These include individual and Latina advocacy, child counseling, and the Start Strong program, which focuses on the prevention of teen dating violence. Sojourner House also operates a Safe Home and provides transitional housing for survivors of domestic abuse.

I wanted to start a support group for domestic violence were I lived at the time.so I did my research and called sojourner house I talked to madaline and Normia they helped me step by step the support group is still there and I never forgot the help they gave me I haven't been able to volunteer for a while but I went to a class at the food bank on domestic violence and that's were my heart is
