Torrance-Lomita Meals on Wheels

Description

Meals are delivered by volunteers. Each delivery consists of two meals: one hot meal to be eaten at midday and a cold meal for the evening. The meals are delivered between 11:30am and 1:00pm, five days a week, Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Meals are planned by a registered dietician and are nutritionally balanced to include each of the four main food groups and provide two-thirds of the Recommended Daily Allowance. Volunteers donate their time as well as the operation of their vehicles to deliver the meals. Minimum age is 18 years old (unless accompanied by guardian). To ride-along on a route with a team as an orientation to our program, we can arrange a date and time. Just call our office from 9:00am to 1:30pm Monday-Friday at (310) 542-3434.
