Mission Statement
Steppingstone is a non-profit organization that develops and implements educational programs for children in Philadelphia and Boston to prepare talented but educationally underprivileged students from the public schools for entrance into and success at top area independent schools, as well as other competitive college-preparatory programs.
Description
After completing the rigorous 14-month academic program that prepares our Scholars for entrance into and success at top independent schools, the Scholars are eligible to receive a range of support services, including the Mentoring and Tutoring Program and College Preparation. Scholars may elect to take advantage of the Mentoring component by attending sessions every Saturday, or they may drop in on occasional Saturdays to get help in any academic subject from Study Hall Specialists.
