Virtual Opportunity
Broadway Community is a 42-year-old human service agency that serves hundreds of New Yorkers experiencing hunger, homelessness, and poverty. We empower one another with nourishing food, a welcoming environment, shelter, medical care, life skills practice, and faithful accompaniment through challenging times. We serve one another - breaking down barriers of poverty, inequity, and privilege - until all are fed, in body and spirit. We dream of a world where our services aren’t necessary - a world in which no one needs to experience homelessness, hunger, or poverty. We want to be legislated out of work, and until then, are dedicated to being a bridge from crisis to stability for anyone that arrives at our doors. Why Your Help Matters As homelessness and hunger rise in the Upper West Side, Morningside Heights, West Harlem, and New York City as a whole, the demand for all of our services has been steadily increasing. At the same time, we're trying to deepen valuable programming to our community (like case management, street outreach, and social support groups) that we believe will reduce hunger and homelessness in the long-run. We need your support to continue meeting the growing needs of our community with dignity, welcome, and abundance. How You Can Help Regardless of where you are, you can help us fulfill our mission by serving as a volunteer fundraiser. Whether you want to reach out to family and friends, host a bake sale, run a race, or host a show on behalf of our work, we can work with you. There is no fundraising minimum, and all funds raised will go directly to supporting our soup kitchen, shelter, and case management work.
